Hooded eyelids can occur naturally due to genetics and the shape of the brow and upper eyelid. They may also become more noticeable with ageing as the skin loses collagen and elasticity, causing excess skin and soft tissue to descend over the eyelid crease. Changes in brow position and the supporting tissues around the eyes can further contribute to a heavier or more hooded appearance.

Treatments that address this
It may be worth seeking professional advice when hooded eyelids become more noticeable, create a heavy or tired appearance, or begin to interfere with your field of vision. A consultation can help determine whether excess eyelid skin, brow position, or both are contributing.
